Most of our productions are intended for school-age children and older, although age recommendations vary by production. Children under age 6 are not admitted unless otherwise advertised. Content information is available on each production page to help families determine whether a show is appropriate. Every guest, regardless of age, must have a ticket, and babes in arms are not permitted.
Please wear what makes you feel most comfortable. (We're not that fancy.) We do ask guests to please avoid strongly scented perfumes, colognes, and lotions out of consideration for those with allergies or sensitivities.
Please silence all electronic devices before the performance and refrain from using them while the performance is underway. Sounds and notifications can be distracting to both artists and guests.
Late seating is determined by the House Manager and varies by production. To minimize disruption, you may be seated in a specific location or asked to wait until an appropriate break or intermission.
Leave something behind after the show? Please email us to see if we picked up the item or can assist in locating it for you.
Photography, video, or audio recording are prohibited during all performances. Unless otherwise announced, guests may take photos before the performance, during intermission, or after the show, but please turn off any flash.

Performances generally proceed as scheduled during inclement weather, and refunds are not offered because of weather or travel conditions. If BCP cancels a performance, affected ticket holders will be contacted with additional information.
In 1722, Connecticut’s General Assembly granted permission for a Congregational Church in Centerbrook. The original building was completed in 1724 and was replaced by the current structure, now known as Centerbrook Meetinghouse, in 1790.
Originally a plain rectangular structure, it was given Greek Revival features in an 1839 renovation.
Further renovations in 1889 added the bell tower and refashioned the interior to late Victorian in style.
A two-story addition was added to the rear in 1972, adding space for a parish hall, Sunday school, and kitchen.
The building added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
Today, the Meetinghouse is owned and managed by the Town of Essex as a public community and performance space, and we are grateful for their allowing us to produce our shows in this beautiful venue. If you are interested in renting the space for an event, information may be found here.
